Bachmann's new Hi-Rail has lots of potential.

There is more to railroading than locomotives and freight cars. Maintenance crews use a wide variety of equipment to keep the rails in working order. This new offering from Bachmann gives HO modelers another option for modeling part of these interesting operations.

The new Hi-Rail truck is typical of vehicles used in right-of-way maintance. Think of it like your local highway department's trucks, but with the ability to travel on both road and rail. While models of Hi-Rail vehicles are not new (Bachmann even introduced its own line more than 20 years ago) this is one of the first with DCC installed.

The model is a great starting point for modelers looking to add some Maintenance of Way to their regular operations. While there is room for improvement, many modelers will enjoy this truck for what it is already. Read more in my complete review.
