Last week we looked at a modern version of a classic - the three compartment tank car. This week's car was ironically just one car ahead of that in the consist and is equally rare. NATX 24363 is a two-compartment tank car.

The construction details can be seen in the duplicate loading hatches and vents on the top of the car, in the middle of the large safety railing. A pair of unloading ports are also present on the bottom of the car.
Painted a basic black, this car's rare construction would be harder to spot from a normal vantage point along the tracks. Fortunately, this elevated view along the hillside makes them easier to spot. And that is worthy of note, since most of us see our model trains from a similar angle.
Like the three-compartment tank we saw last week, no commercial models are available for this car. But it could be made by combining detail parts from one of the many tank car models available in multiple scales today.
