timesaver

From About.com

Definition: A time saver layout is a small railroad yard layout used as a puzzle game. A switching locomotive is placed on the layout with a number of railroad cars. The cars are placed at diverse positions on the layout. The operator uses the locomotive to collect the cars from their different positions on various yard tracks and relocate them to positions designated as their finish points. The goal is to rearrange the cars in the least "moves" and/or the shortest amount of time.
