Running Three-Rail Model Railroad Trains

Many O Scale locomotives come with bells and whistles... literally. A good transformer should have buttons labeled "Bell" and "Whistle". Pressing the whistle button blows the whistle for as long as you hold it down. Pressing the bell button toggles the bell on and off; in other words press the bell button once to start the bell ringing and press it a second time to stop it.
