Kato's new model captures the look, sound and performance of the prototype.

Kato's latest HO scale release of the F40PH diesel includes a little feature which hasn't been included in a plastic F40PH model till now - ditch lights. These locomotives capture the look of the boxy and brauny F40 very well.

Add in the factory-installed ESU Locksound decoder and the locomotive runs and sounds just like its prototype as well. This locomotive is a must have for anyone modeling Amtrak operations from 1975 till the late 1990s. With the ditch lights added, it is perfect for the late 1980s onward. Read my complete review of the new model, or head to the hobby shop and see one for yourself!
