A look back this week at the golden era of railroads when everything moved by rail! This beautiful Soo Line reefer has been wonderfully restored by volunteers at the Whippany Railroad Museum in New Jersey.

This Soo Line car carries reporting marks for the Union Refrigerated Transit Company.

These wood-sided, ice-cooled reefers were once a common sight all across the country. And it wasn't uncommon for cars carrying produce from other regions to show up in the busy urban markets of the Garden State. Although that might not be the first place you'd expect to find this beautiful car today!
