Narrow Gauge in 3mm Scale: Finnegan's Crossing*
Model railway scales in the UK scales are slightly different than in most other parts of the world. This is why I've posted an article specifically on UK scales and gauges. 3mm scale is sometimes referred to as "British TT". This is because 3mm scale is 1:101 and TT scale, at 1:120, is the closest standard scale. The two scales share 12mm gauge as their standard gauge track (referred to as TT gauge in the UK) but they also share the 9mm gauge (N gauge) for narrow gauge models.
The April edition of the British magazine Railway Modeller featured a 3mm scale layout of Irish narrow gauge prototypes by modeller Mark Fisher. Finnegan's Crossing is a small circular layout and, while the back side is a hidden staging area, the front is exquisitely detailed. Finnegan's Crossing is an outstanding example of modelling in a scale making a come-back. I hope we see more work in 3mm scale, or perhaps even European TT scale, from Mark Fisher in the days to come.
* This article deals with railway modelling in the UK, so British terms and spellings have been usedFor more information on 3mm scale visit the Three Millimetre Society website.

Amazing. I hope to see more narrow gauge layouts like this one here in future! Thanks for sharing the photos and layout plans.
many thanks for the kind words about Finnegan’s Crossing. It is good to know that news of it spreads across the pond!
